Where and Who We Are
Radcliffe is a town within the
Metropolitan Borough of Bury in Greater Manchester, UK. Coal measures
underlie the area and a series of mines opened during the Industrial
Revolution helped to transform the town into an important industrial
area. Locally sourced coal provided the fuel for a variety of cotton
spinning and papermaking industries. The town's wealth as a mill town
gave rise to many outlets of entertainment for it's population.
Radcliffe Male Voice Choir formed in 1921 continues to this day and is
one of the oldest Male Voice Choirs in the UK.
With a current membership of about
forty individuals from various walks of life, the choir is under the direction of our Musical Director and Conductor Keith C
and welcomes all men aged 16 years or over.
We have a significant repertoire of about two
hundred items from traditional Welsh pieces to Classicals and items from
Musicals to Pop songs, in fact something for almost everybody to enjoy.
A warm welcome awaits you!
